Our Story

Stride4ward was born from lived experience growing up alongside a brother with Down syndrome and witnessing firsthand what true inclusion, patience, and joy look like in everyday life.

Over time, it became clear that while creativity, expression, and belonging are universal, access is not. Many individuals living in group homes or supported environments have limited opportunities for simple, meaningful creative engagement.

Stride4ward was created to fill that gap bringing creative experiences into everyday spaces and moments, where people can create, connect, and feel seen without pressure or prerequisites. It’s built on the belief that creativity doesn’t have to be polished or perfect to be powerful. It just needs to be accessible.

Every stride begins with heART.

We turn everyday creativity into connection, belonging, and community impact.

Stride4ward’s mission is to enhance the lives of individuals with diverse abilities through creativity, expression, and shared experiences. We work closely to support individuals and the people who care for them across the many places where everyday life happens.

This includes individuals living in group homes and community residences, participating in day programs, living in private homes, gathering in local activity centers, and families seeking connection, support, and a sense of belonging.

These are individuals and families who deserve more than occasional programming or once-a-year events. They deserve regular, meaningful opportunities to express themselves, connect with others, and feel included in everyday community life.

Stride4ward creates those opportunities through approachable, creative experiences designed to meet people where they are emotionally, socially, and physically.

Our work includes:
